The third Amanda Feral adventure, following Road Trip of the Living Dead (2009) finds the fashionista zombie trying to save her flagging advertising company—and her relationship with her sexy werewolf boyfriend, Scott. Amanda reluctantly agrees to meet reality show personality Johnny Birch, who also happens to be a honey-voiced wood nymph, at the strip club owned by her vampire mother Ethel. Johnny tells Amanda he has been receiving death threats, and he wants her to serve as a judge on a reality show where contestants compete to serve as his bodyguard. Realizing the gig could increase her company’s profile and bring in business, Amanda agrees, to the chagrin of her boyfriend Scott, who is tired of Amanda’s inability to commit to him. Despite wanting to fix things with Scott, Amanda goes forward with the reality show—and soon has a murder on her hands. Though sometimes a little too fixated on its own cleverness, Henry’s latest is perfect for those who don’t mind mixing girlishness and gore. --Kristine Huntley
