About the Author

James Spurr was appointed by the Governor of Michigan to the Commission for the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 because of his in-depth understanding of the subject. He began to share his knowledge in his Great Lakes, Great Guns Historical Series in 2006 before advancing to the First World War with his current writing. James Spurr received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1978, majoring in Philosophy, and received his Juris Doctor degree from Wayne St
